The Warriors’ hosting of action between the Upper Iowa Conference and Northeast Iowa Conference drew spectators Wednesday. South Winneshiek and Turkey Valley helped to give the UIC its first win in the annual game since 2013, said Alex Smith, South Winneshiek coach. A tie at 221 for the women led to a win for North Fayette Valley by four strokes. The TigerHawks’ Taylor Ellis (49) was medalist, according to information from Glenna Munuswamy, coach, by email May 1. Turkey Valley women grabbed eighth at MFL MarMac with 33. Kee (99) and Central (81) had the top two spots. Jalyssa Blazek (1:04.46) took second in the 400 with 1:04.46 and third in the 800 with 2:32.22. The full article appears in the Calmar Courier.

A frigid day greeted action in Fredericksburg. TV Red (225) grabbed third as a team with New Hampton Black (229) and New Hampton Red (228) narrowly edging into the top two spots.
