Area Students Named State Finalists

Seventh graders Russell Nieman and Autumn Schmitt are qualifiers for the 2019 Geobee competition.

Nieman attends Turkey Valley, and Schmitt attends CFS, information online notes.

Russell is the son of Elizabeth Nieman-Simmons and Justin Nieman, according to email from Jackie Hageman at Turkey Valley March 5.

The event is the work of National Geographic, and the top 100 qualifiers from each state were announced March 4 online.
