Calmar’s business community continues to show growth.

In the coming months, the Calmar Courier will highlight businesses.

New businesses will be the initial focus and then existing businesses.

“The business spotlight is an attempt to recognize our business community,” said economic development director Don Wurtzel. “It is a way to highlight the variety of businesses, the services that they provide and the economic impact that they have on our local community. It is also a way to encourage area residents to support our local businesses and also for all of us to say thank you to them.”

The Calmar Community Club, Calmar Development Corporation, the City of Calmar, Northeast Iowa Community College and have involvement in the effort.
