More Rain Possible Ahead

As flood cleanup continues, the threat of more precipitation might have residents on edge.

Meanwhile, eligible residents in Allamakee, Clayton, Fayette, Howard and Winneshiek counties have until Oct. 7 to apply for assistance after Governor Terry Branstad issued a disaster proclamation for the area.

 Under the Iowa Individual Assistance Program, residents can receive grants up to $5,000. Eligibility is based on household income.

Major flooding struck the area beginning Aug. 23 as Calmar saw over 6 inches of rain fall in under 24 hours.
