NICC Students Learn Hybrid Safety

Students in Northeast Iowa Community College’s Automotive Technology program are learning how to repair vehicles that are likely to become more common in the coming years - hybrid vehicles. They require specialized knowledge to repair, and students in the Auto Metal Repair/Hybrid Vehicles Intro class are gaining experience that will give them an edge as they prepare for their careers.

“By 2025, the federal government will be requiring all automobile manufacturers to produce engines that, on average, achieve 54.5 miles per gallon in fuel,” explained instructor Todd Hills.
