Turkey Valley Third Graders Visit Jensen Conservation Farm

The Turkey Valley Third Grade class visited the Dick Jensen Conservation Farm near Elgin Sept. 21 hosted by the Fayette County Soil and Water Conservation District (Fayette County SWCD) and the Jensen family. The Turkey Valley Education Foundation assisted in providing the transportation funding.

At the day-long event, the students visited six separate learning stations. They learned about different types of soil structure and the techniques farmers use to combat erosion.
