South Winneshiek saw a shortened week with the storm that called off a planned contest with Turkey Valley Jan. 10. The Warriors saw just two games for the week, a loss to Sumner-Fredericksburg 47-71 Thursday, followed by a win Friday against West Central, 56- 29. Thursday’s contest at home saw South Winneshiek stay competitive for the first quarter before a punishing second quarter saw the Cougars head into halftime up 42-25 over the Warriors.
