After taking the initial steps, area wrestling coaches are looking ahead to see just what they need to do to get ready for the first official season of sanctioned wrestling for girls.
One development that will bear watching will be girls from big schools competing in a single class with some of Iowa’s smallest schools in a Hoosiers’ style battle of large and small teams across an entire state.
In the classic film, a small town team makes its way to the tournament as Indiana competition for decades placed big schools against small schools, regardless of enrollment.
