Wrestling Sharing Returning

New Hampton and Turkey Valley wrestling together will be back next season.

The first year of a partnership saw good results this past season.

Now, a second season together is planned after a vote April 9 by the Turkey Valley school board, the board’s meeting minutes note.

“Both districts are excited to continue the New Hampton/Turkey Valley wrestling partnership that was started this year,” said Jay Jurrens, shared superintendent for both schools, by email Thursday. “The students in both districts saw great benefits from the partnership and everyone looks forward to seeing the partnership continue to develop and improve. The New Hampton/Turkey Valley Wrestling team put two state tournament trophies in the Turkey Valley trophy case this year and we look forward to what next year will bring.”
