Courthouse Repairs Garner Recognition

Repairs at the Winneshiek County Courthouse have resulted in “Best Public Project” recognition at the 2020 Preserve Iowa Summit.

Visitors to the courthouse have seen work proceeding off and on for several years at the historic courthouse, but a virtual ceremony Thursday brought home honors for the courthouse here as well as 13 other historic preservation projects throughout the state.

Awardees ranged from an Avoca cemetery chapel to a military base at the southern side of Des Moines.
