New Hampton and Turkey Valley agriculture instructor Ashley Mattke sees teaching about agriculture as being important, not just for one person but for all.

“Agriculture education is important to each and every person,” said Mattke. “We all eat, we all wear clothing. If it [were] not for agriculture we would not have any of the materials we do have. It is important for all to have a basic understanding of what agriculture is so that we are not mislead by what is in the media. Sometimes the media does have truthful information but sometimes it has some facts and some myths mixed in. With agriculture education, hopefully it can guide people in the right direction.”
