Newspapers Wins Three Awards

The Calmar Courier was among newspapers honored Friday with the 2018 Iowa Better Newspaper Contests, the Iowa Newspaper Association announced on its site.

The newspaper received a first place in Coverage of Court and Crime, second place in Coverage of Education and third place in Best Series.

“The Calmar Courier explores education from multiple angles: through fundings and the effects all decisions have on students and the community at large,” noted comments in a special section on the newspaper’s Coverage of Education.
