Freeport Incident Results in Attempted Murder Charge

FREEPORT - One man was airlifted from WinnMed with self-inflicted injuries as he faces charges including attempted murder.

Hunter Youngblood, 22, of Decorah, has been charged with Class “B” felony attempted murder, Class “D” felony willful injury, aggravated misdemeanor harassment and serious misdemeanor domestic abuse assault following an incident over the weekend.

The incident took place on 170th Avenue at 11:30 p.m. Saturday.

A press release Tuesday said the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office will not be releasing additional details of the ongoing investigation at this time.
