Hageman Makes His Mark

Editor’s Note: The Calmar Courier is profiling members of the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office who have served in the military.

A native of Fort Atkinson, Andrew Hageman graduated from South Winneshiek.

Before returning to this area, he entered the military.

“I entered in 2007 when I was 19 years old,” said Hageman by email. “I was in college and I decided that I was young, able, and willing to serve and our country was fighting a war overseas. It felt like the right thing to do.”

Hageman found value in serving.

“[It left] me a great perspective of the world and different cultures,” said Hageman. “This helps every day at the Sheriff’s Office helping people through problems. Also learning how to work through big operations and working with coworkers to complete a common task.”
