Heavy Turnout Reported

Over 70 percent of Winneshiek County voters took part in the election.

Democrat Abby Finkenauer won Winneshiek County, with 51.73 percent of votes cast. Incumbent Rod Blum had 44.29 percent.

Unofficial results were released Nov. 6 by Winneshiek County auditor Ben Steines.

Libertarian Troy Hageman had 3.97 percent.

A close race was seen for the governorship with Kim Reynolds and Adam Gregg drawing 49.04 percent and Democrats Fred Hubbell and Rita Hart drawing 48.45 percent.

Libertarians Luke Porter and Lynne Gentry had 1.18 percent, and the CWP’s Gary Siegwarth and Natalia Blaskovitch had 1.33 percent.

Incumbent Republican Paul Pate for Secretary of State had 50.88 percent, and Democrat Deidre DeJear had 47.32 percent. Libertarian Jules Ofenbakh had 1.79 percent.
