Linda Mikota

Linda Mikota, 74 of Hackensack, Minnesota, passed away April 19, 2022 at St. Cloud Hospital in Minnesota. 

On April 19, the world suddenly lost a beloved wife, mother, sister, and friend. Linda passed away peacefully with family by her side at St. Cloud Hospital. Linda was born to Kurt (Rothmeyer) and Marie (Cremer) December 5, 1947, in Decorah. She married Gerald (Gerry) Mikota June 27, 1970 and had three sons. They raised their boys in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota where Linda enjoyed cheering them on in hockey. Later, they enjoyed retirement life on Baby Lake in Hackensack, Minnesota. Linda enjoyed spending time with all her children and later with her grandchildren. She enjoyed everything life had to offer whether it was trips with her sisters, aka the Golden Girls, or to lunch with Ladies of the Lakes. She was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Hackensack, Minnesota.

Linda is survived by her husband, Gerry, of 51 years; her children: Mark (Amanda) Mikota, Ryan (Nicole) Mikota and Chad (Amanda) Mikota and her darling grandchildren: Elyse, Abbey, Anna, Harper, Kelsey, Geoff, and Natalie; her siblings: Gerry (Sally) Rothmeyer, of Apple Valley, Minnesota; Duane (Bert) Rothmeyer, of Bloomington, Minnesota; Joyce (Cliff) Bullerman, of Decorah; Lyle Rothmeyer, of Cottage Grove, Minnesota; Kathy Urseth, of Prior Lake, Minnesota, and Randy (Lisa) Rothmeyer, of Cedar Rapids, and her brother-in-law: Larry (Angie) Mikota, of Spillville.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Marie, and her father, Kurt.

Mass of Christian Burial was set for 11 a.m., April 29, at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Spillville with burial in the church cemetery and visitation from 9 a.m. until the time of service at the church in Spillville with Helms Funeral Home handling the arrangements. There was also be an open house to celebrate Linda at her lake home this summer. Date is to be determined.
