Lost History: Siren’s Call

The April 21, 1916 edition of the Calmar Courier notes that “Peg O’ My Heart,” the offering set to open at the Frana Opera House, “has to its credit the longest run of any play in New York for many seasons.”

The newspaper proceeded to give the basic plot for the performance, which centered on Peg, an arrival from America, who lands in the laps of an aristocratic English family.

Explaining she was told to wait, this daughter of a runaway sister of the family is introduced into the life of the family with humorous results.
