Outdoor Idea Nixed

A Calmar business seeking to open up shop outdoors was unsuccessful in its bid.

During city council’s July 2 meeting, the idea broached by The Horsehoe was discussed.

The idea would have seen tables on the southern face of the building where the mural is visible with a view of the city lots, flagpoles and traffic.

A concern voiced was the lack of enough room.

With diagonal parking in the city lot, the overhang of bumpers would crowd the finite space available.

Three feet would be the limit, according to city clerk Michele Elsbernd.
