Winneshiek County Sheriff Dan Marx sees a new software system as a major deterrent to crime.

Purchased with help from a $6,000 grant by the Winneshiek County Community Foundation, the Cellebrite software addresses a fundamental reality of major life.

Speaking Wednesday at a ceremony for this year’s grants, Marx noted smartphones capture an immense amount of people’s lives.
