SW Hosts TV Baseball

The Warriors have seen their first Upper Iowa Conference loss of the season.

“Noah Tieskoetter and Austin Tieskoetter combined for a five inning no hitter,” said coach Alex Smith by email June 26. “[South Winneshiek] jumped out to the early lead and didn’t look back with multiple hit performances by Noah Tieskoetter, Levi Lukes, Seth Greve, and Kody Kleve.”

“A pitchers dual in game two featured [a couple] of the top arms in the Upper Iowa Conference in Cale Reicks and Jaron Todd,” said Smith. “[Turkey Valley] took advantage of a leadoff walk in the top of the first and were able to produce the only run of the game. The Warriors biggest threat came in the bottom of the seventh with back to back singles by Jackson Lukes and Seth Greve. A double steal led to runners at 2nd and 3rd with no outs. A fly ball to rightfield…gave the Warriors a chance to tag up but a catch and throw by the [Turkey Valley] right fielder was on line and cut down Carter Wenthold at the plate to end the game.”
