SW Phone System Out of Operation

CALMAR - South Winneshiek Community School District has spent recent days dealing with phone headaches.

After a phone outage began July 31, district officials scrambled to fix the problem.

By Friday, it had become apparent the issue was significant.

“Our existing phone system has malfunctioned and is no longer operational,” the district announced. “As a temporary solution, we have set up three substitute phones: one for the office in Ossian and two for the offices in Calmar.”

Temporary numbers include:

High School Office: 563-419-0704

District Office: 563-419-4755

ELMS Office: 563-532-9365

No voicemail or text has been set up for these numbers, so messages need to be sent by email.

The district is currently working to set up a permanent solution. As of press time, the system continued to be out of order.
