Training Iowa’s Next Generation

The Iowa Department of Education is partnering with the Iowa Association of Business and Industry and Elevate Advanced Manufacturing to push careers in manufacturing.

“Advanced manufacturing accounts for almost 90% of Iowa’s exports, contributes $29 billion to the state’s economy, and represents 14% of the state’s total employment, placing manufacturers in the top third of employers in Iowa. Unfortunately, there seems to be a perception or stigma attached to careers in manufacturing that has inhibited our future workforce from considering opportunities in this growing industry,” according to an emailed press release sent Thursday.
