TV Students Explore Careers

Eighth grade Turkey Valley students, as well as hundreds of other northeast Iowa students, had a chance to explore many different careers at NICC’s Career Fair at the end of March. NICC and Upper Iowa University worked in collaboration to host employees from approximately 40 different careers. Students had the opportunity to visit with people from each ‘table or career’ to ask questions about their education, their income, what skills they need, what classes they should take, and what they like/dislike about their career. The career clusters included: Agriculture, Architecture, Arts and Audio-visual, Business and Management, Education and Training, Finance, Government and Public Administration, Health Science, Hospitality and Tourism, Human Service, Information Technology, Law and Public Safety, Manufacturing, Marketing, Science and Technology, and Transportation.
