Lillian Elizabeth Holthaus, 96, died at Wellington Place Care Center in Decorah Oct. 17, 2025.
She was born in her rural home near Festina Oct. 5, 1929, the seventh of nine children of Felix
and Agnes (Schmitt) Holthaus. Baptized and confirmed at Our lady of Seven Dolors Catholic
Church in Festina. She attended St Mary’s Catholic School until the sixth grade. Illness ended
her formal education.
