Calmar Driver Cited After Hawkeye Crash

HAWKEYE - At approximately 12:30 a.m., the Fayette County Sheriff's Office took a report of rollover vehicle accident with no injuries near the intersection of Highway 18 and Quartz Road near Hawkeye.

After an investigation, it was found that Benjamin Wade Rod, 33, of Calmar, was northbound on Quartz Road when he lost control of his vehicle and rolled into the ditch.

No injuries were reported, and damage to the 2011 Chevy Silverado was considered a total loss. Rod was cited for Failure to Maintain Control, a simple misdemeanor.
