Gary Eckhardt, 79, of West Union, passed away Aug. 17, 2024, at Aase Haugen Senior Services in Decorah. Memorial Mass was set for 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 30, at Holy Name Catholic Church – 128 N. Walnut St. in West Union with burial in the Minnesota State Veterans Cemetery in Preston at a later date and visitation from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the service Friday morning at the church.

Vera Wiest, 93, of Fort Atkinson, passed away Saturday, Aug. 3, 2024, at the Wellington Place nursing home in Decorah. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, Aug. 9, at St. John Nepomucene Catholic Church, 201 Oak Street in Fort Atkinson, with burial in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4 to 6 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 8, at the Helms Funeral Home Chekal Chapel, 201 Main Street in Fort Atkinson, and from 9:30 – 10:15 a.m. at the funeral home Friday morning.
