After drought conditions, the rains came, leaving county officials eyeing just what impact Fayette County might see from a weekend storm that broke records for just how much rainfall fell in a single day.
While National Weather Service officials were a bit staggered by the 5.85 inches that fell Saturday near their La Crosse, Wisconsin office – breaking a record set back in the 1880s – Fayette County was spared the worst of the storm.
