Months after public protests against law enforcement, area peace officers are seeing what could be a direct result of that anti-law enforcement sentiment.

A study of online court records and law enforcement reports shows several incidents with members of area departments injured on the job.

Most recently, a deputy from the Winneshiek County Sheriff’s Office responding to a domestic call was hurt attempting to bring in the suspect, who led officers on a chase and rammed a patrol car.
