A profitable sideline for Winneshiek County is really taking off, as seed collection on the county’s rights-of-way is yielding a lucrative product.
Just three years in for the program, roadside seed collection, in turn to be sold, is producing some good results with county officials looking at expanding the operation.
Currently, county staff is hand collecting seed from rights-of-way to sell and storing where possible.
